Yorkshire’s Nick Matthew is a record nine-time Nationals Champion.
His first appearance was in 1995, then from 2004 to 2006 he progressed from the Quarters, to the Semis, and won his first title with a marathon victory over defending champion Lee Beachill.
He was unable to defend the title, missing the next two years due to injury, but returned in 2009 to reclaim the title. Nick retained the title in 2010, lost a marathon final to Daryl Selby in 2011 (when he was reigning World Champion), then won six in a row from 2012 to 2017.
2018 will mark his 19th Nationals appearance.
